The Prime Minister of Canada has announced that his government will provide a $900 million aid package to Ukraine.
“Elchi” reports, citing “Evropeyskaya Pravda”, that he stated this at the beginning of his meeting with President Zelensky in Ankara.
Mark Carney emphasized that they discussed the new aid package, which will be officially announced in the near future.
“Canada should announce the allocation of $900 million in aid in the medium term. By medium term, I mean the coming months,” he told Zelensky. Although the Prime Minister’s statement did not specify that it was in Canadian dollars, Canadian aid is usually calculated in this currency. 900 million Canadian dollars is approximately 633 million US dollars.
According to him, the aid package will include vehicles, ammunition, etc., as well as air defense (AD) systems. Zelensky, in turn, noted that Ukraine has already received an air defense package from Canada.
Canada’s Prime Minister also noted that his country plans to continue assisting the state in meeting its energy needs, as well as in the recovery and strengthening of the Ukrainian economy.
