Today, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and his Singaporean counterpart, Vivian Balakrishnan.
“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has released information regarding this.
It was stated that during the telephone conversation, an exchange of views took place on the current state and development prospects of existing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Singapore, as well as on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The ministers noted the importance of intensifying political dialogue, mutual visits, and the existing potential for expanding cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investments, digital transformation, innovation, transport-logistics, education, and human capital development, as well as the steps taken to develop the bilateral legal framework.
The importance of cooperation within multilateral platforms, including the UN and other international organizations, was emphasized, and an exchange of views took place regarding candidacies for elective bodies of international organizations.
Jeyhun Bayramov informed about the decision taken by the Azerbaijani side on August 1 to introduce a visa-free regime for Singaporean citizens, expressing his confidence that this step would make a significant contribution to expanding people-to-people contacts, developing business ties and tourism, as well as further deepening bilateral relations.
Regional security issues were also discussed during the telephone conversation. Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other party about the work being carried out to ensure sustainable peace and stability in the region during the post-conflict period.
In addition, the large-scale restoration and reconstruction work being carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, and the importance of opening transport and communication lines in the region for economic integration and strengthening mutual trust were highlighted.
Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan’s relations with Central Asian countries have risen to a strategic level in recent years, and in this context, cooperation within the C6 format, as well as the Caspian Sea, the Middle Corridor, and other regional connectivity projects, make a significant contribution to the promotion of sustainable economic integration in the Eurasian space.
During the telephone conversation, the parties also exchanged views on other regional issues of mutual interest.
