As of August 27, 7,845 students have registered through the electronic system for the new profile-based education model in full secondary general education institutions under the Baku City Education Department (BCED).
According to information provided to elchi by the BCED, the registration of 10th-11th grade students for the new profile-based education model will continue until September 1.
It was noted that in the 2026-2027 academic year, the new profile-based education model will cover 31 general education institutions in Baku. Specifically, the implementation of the new model will begin in full secondary schools No. 313, 136, 71, 88, 182, 290, 106, 116, 337, 96, 239, 26, 320, 114, 263, 194, 253, 21, 283, 196, 45, 19, 227, 135, 302, 104, 51, 144, 262, as well as school-lyceums No. 70 and 299.
It was stated that the main goal of the model is to ensure that students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for admission to higher education institutions through an enhanced teaching process organized at school, without the need for additional preparatory courses. In addition to strengthening students’ academic development and preparation according to their future educational goals, the new profile-based education model will serve to more effectively utilize professional teaching potential in the educational process and improve the quality of education.
