Microsoft founder and billionaire businessman Bill Gates has highlighted the seriousness of the situation, stating that he calls for global efforts to mitigate the growing risks posed by artificial intelligence.
elchi reports that in an interview with Reuters, Gates expressed his belief that if the US takes the lead on this issue, China might agree to limit the spread of potentially dangerous AI models.
Gates, who plans to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping later this year, stated that the whole world would support such a step.
Planned meeting with Xi Jinping
Gates’ team is continuing to coordinate a meeting with Xi Jinping during his planned visit to China in November.
Emphasizing that the technology world has never witnessed such a development before, Gates stated that the current process has a policy threshold that must be managed by society as a whole.
Gates said that in the meeting, he aims to propose that countries monitor the ability of AI to produce molecules and carry out biological attacks, arguing that this oversight would not hinder the development of the technology sector.
