UEFA Champions League: Earnings of Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray revealed

Turkey’s two giant clubs – Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray – will earn significant revenue from their participation in the UEFA Champions League.

elchi reports that after defeating Lyon 2-1 in the second leg of the play-off round, Fenerbahçe has qualified for the main stage of the Champions League for the first time in 18 years.

Galatasaray, the champion of the Turkish Super Lig last season, qualified for the tournament directly.

Galatasaray’s minimum guaranteed income in the Champions League will be 30.5 million euros. The club will earn 18.6 million for participation, 3.5 million based on its 10-year ranking, and 8.4 million euros from its 5-year ranking and media rights.

Fenerbahçe’s guaranteed income will be 31.8 million euros. The Istanbul representative will earn 18.6 million for participation, 3.8 million based on its 10-year ranking, and 9.4 million euros from its 5-year ranking and media rights.

It should be noted that for the first time in 19 years, Turkey will be represented by two clubs in the Champions League. Both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe will be placed in the third pot for the tournament draw.
