Champions League: 6 people detained after the Lyon vs Fenerbahce match

Following the second leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round between Lyon and Fenerbahce, 6 people have been detained in France due to the incidents that occurred.

“Elchi” reports that the French publication “L’Equipe” has provided information on this matter.

According to the report, at least one of the detainees was arrested on suspicion of carrying a weapon and possessing a knife. It was also reported that another individual attempted to enter the pitch during the match.

Security forces implemented extensive measures during and after the match. Four fans were fined for using pyrotechnic devices.

According to the information, approximately 450 security personnel were deployed for the game. Security forces intervened after the confusion caused by Turkish fans in the stands and the throwing of various objects onto the pitch following Fenerbahce’s second goal.

It should be noted that Fenerbahce defeated Lyon 2:1 away, securing their place in the main stage of the Champions League.
