Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan will not accept his parliamentary mandate.
elchi reports that Simonyan stated this during a briefing held in parliament.
Simonyan stated that he wishes to continue his activities as speaker, but accepts the decision of the party leadership.
At the same time, he emphasized that he envisions his political activities only within the Civil Contract Party and together with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan:
“I cannot imagine myself in any political process without Pashinyan.”
It should be noted that the ruling Civil Contract Party has nominated Ruben Rubinyan for the position of parliamentary speaker.
