The European Union (EU) intends to strengthen its partnership with Azerbaijan.
“Elchi” reports that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated this on July 1 in Baku while making a press statement with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
“My goal is to strengthen our partnership with Azerbaijan,” the head of the European Commission said.
She also congratulated Azerbaijan on the results of the peace process with Armenia:
“The EU supports the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Today, I would like to congratulate you on the initialing of the historic peace document. You have demonstrated your personal leadership, and this paves the way for stability, trust, and shared prosperity. The European Union firmly supports this peace process, and we will continue to do everything possible. We are ready to contribute to peace not just on paper, but in reality, and we must work in this direction today and every day.”
