Georgia is in favor of restarting the strategic partnership with the USA

Georgia is in favor of restarting the strategic partnership with the USA based on a roadmap that defines common priorities and concrete cooperation mechanisms.

elchi reports that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said this during his speech at the official reception organized at the US Embassy on the occasion of America’s Independence Day.

He stated that Georgia has been a loyal, reliable, and responsible partner of the USA for many years and has consistently cooperated with Washington on regional security issues.

“When the USA needed Georgia’s support to implement its strategic priorities, our country always responded to this call as a reliable partner,” Kobakhidze emphasized.

According to him, recent geopolitical processes have further increased the strategic importance of the South Caucasus both regionally and globally, and in these circumstances, Georgia’s role is of particular importance.

The Prime Minister noted that against the background of current geopolitical changes, further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries is in the interests of both parties:

“Despite the difficulties that have arisen in recent years, we believe that it is time to restart our strategic partnership through a concrete roadmap that defines common priorities, practical mechanisms of cooperation, and clear strategic goals. Georgia proposes a strategic partnership based on mutual respect, fairness, and a clear framework for cooperation.”
