On June 24, the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr. Daramber Gokhool, personally received Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazade.

It was stated that during the meeting, which took place in a sincere atmosphere at the Presidential Palace with the participation of the country’s First Lady, the relations between our countries were discussed.
“Recalling the visit of the President of Mauritius to Azerbaijan within the framework of the 13th session of the WUF-13 World Urban Forum, Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazade conveyed the greetings of the President of Azerbaijan to the President of Mauritius, Mr. Daramber Gokhool. The President of Mauritius stated that Azerbaijan is a very beautiful, charming, and hospitable country with a very sincere and wise president. The head of state of Mauritius asked the Sheikh-ul-Islam to convey his sincere greetings to the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
Sharing his rich and pleasant impressions of his visit to our country with the Sheikh-ul-Islam, the President of Mauritius, Daramber Gokhool, highly appreciated the successes achieved by the Azerbaijani state under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, its growing influence on the international stage, and its hosting of globally significant events. He noted with pleasure that he had discussed with our head of state the prospects for cooperation in the fields of economy, education, energy, including renewable energy, tourism, and other areas.
Emphasizing that his visit to Azerbaijan created a good opportunity to discuss the development of bilateral relations and various aspects thereof, the President of Mauritius, D. Gokhool, expressed his satisfaction with the current level of our political relations. He stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Mauritius in 1996, the relations between the two countries are currently at their highest level.
Positive views were expressed regarding the environment of interreligious harmony in our countries. The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr. Daramber Gokhool, particularly emphasized his pleasant impressions from visiting the Bibi-Heybat Mosque complex during his visit to Azerbaijan. Touching upon the directions for the development of religious and spiritual ties between Azerbaijan and Mauritius, Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazade highlighted that our country’s models, which are considered exemplary in the field of interreligious dialogue, cooperation, and inter-sectarian understanding, are appreciated worldwide. The meeting discussed the prospects for our countries’ cooperation in international organizations and mutual visits at various levels.
