The Navy of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that the only authorized route for passage through the Strait of Hormuz is the one declared by Iran, and that vessels must use these routes only in coordination with the fleet.
“Elchi” reports that Iranian media published a statement from the Navy of the Revolutionary Guard Corps regarding the “newly declared route for the Strait of Hormuz.” The statement says: “Without coordination with Iran, a new route for vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz has been announced by some authorities. This is unacceptable and completely dangerous.”
The statement notes that the only authorized routes for passage through the Strait of Hormuz are determined by Iran and adds: “We strongly advise against any transport outside the declared routes. Coordination with the Navy of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps via Channel 16 is required for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and necessary measures will be taken against vessels that violate this.”
