Czech government excludes president from NATO summit delegation

The Czech government has not included the republic’s president, Petr Pavel, in the composition of the national delegation that will participate in the upcoming NATO summit to be held in Ankara.

“Elchi” reports that this was announced by the news portal “Idnes”.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš will lead the Czech delegation. The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the republic Petr Matsinka, as well as Minister of Defense Jaromír Zuna. Pavel had previously stated that if he could not participate in the NATO summit in Ankara, he would consider the possibility of appealing this decision of the Cabinet of Ministers to the Constitutional Court.
