MFA: Measures are being taken for the return of citizens injured as a result of the shelling of ships in the Sea of Azov to Azerbaijan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released information regarding the condition of Azerbaijani citizens injured as a result of the shelling of ships in the Sea of Azov.

In the information provided to elchi by the MFA, it was stated that immediately after the news of the death and injury of our citizens as a result of a drone attack on cargo ships in the Sea of Azov on June 5, employees of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation immediately set off for the area:

“Employees of the Consular section of the Embassy are currently in the city of Yeysk and are providing appropriate consular support to the injured as well as the rescued Azerbaijani citizens. The condition of the wounded is good, and it is expected that several of them will be discharged from the hospital in the near future.

Within the framework of search and rescue measures carried out by the relevant authorities of the Russian Federation, the identification of the deceased and other necessary measures are continuing.

At the same time, necessary measures are being taken to carry out documentation work for the rescued Azerbaijani citizens, to provide them with return certificates, and to organize their return to the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs keeps the matter under special control and is conducting close coordination with the relevant authorities.”

It was stated that additional information will be provided to the public regarding the identities of the deceased and the bringing of their bodies to our country.
