As we previously reported, the monument of the genius Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi, located in the Marneuli district of Georgia, has been desecrated. Footage of the bust being covered with a white cloth was circulated yesterday.
In a statement provided to elchi by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Georgia, it was stated that the bust was temporarily covered with a white cloth for the purpose of restoration.
“Restoration work will begin in the near future,” the statement emphasized.
