“Reuters”: Pakistan has sent thousands of troops and a fighter squadron to Saudi Arabia

Within the framework of a mutual defense pact, Pakistan is deploying a fighter squadron, 8,000 military personnel, and an HQ-9 air defense system to Saudi Arabia.

“Elchi” reports that Reuters has provided this information, citing sources.

“Pakistan has sent an entire squadron to Saudi Arabia consisting of approximately 16 aircraft, mainly JF-17 fighters produced jointly with China, as well as two unmanned aerial vehicles. The equipment is maintained by Pakistani specialists and funded by Saudi Arabia,” the report specified.

It is noted that Islamabad is expanding military cooperation with Riyadh in this way. Sources in the security service and the government stated that this move is intended to support the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces in the event of another attack against the kingdom amid the escalation in the Middle East.

So far, there has been no official comment regarding the deployment of troops. The full terms of the defense agreement signed last year are confidential, but both sides have stated that it provides for mutual support between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the event of an attack.
