The volume of cashless payments in Azerbaijan increased by 11% last month

During July of this year, the volume of domestic cashless payments made via cards amounted to 9 billion 712 million manats.

elchi reports this citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, noting that this is an 11% increase compared to the same month last year.

Of the cashless payments made last month, 8 billion 455 million manats account for e-commerce.

The remaining amount of 1 billion 255 million manats was carried out through POS-terminals, and 2 million manats through self-service terminals and ATMs. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of domestic cashless transactions with payment cards has accounted for 69.8% of domestic card transactions.

A dynamic growth is observed in payment service networks across banks and “Azerpost” LLC. Thus, compared to the end of July last year, the number of ATMs increased by 4.4%, and the number of POS-terminals increased by 12.1%.
