On April 29, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Cho Tae-yul.
According to the information provided to elchi by the MFA, the current state and development prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea, as well as issues of regional cooperation, were discussed during the phone call.
Emphasizing the importance of the participation of Korean companies in a number of projects implemented in Azerbaijan, it was noted that there are broad opportunities for further development of cooperation in the economic sphere.
It was stated that the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Korea plays an important role in the development of relations.
The importance of intensifying the consultation mechanism and mutual visits between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs was highlighted.
The parties touched upon issues of interaction within the framework of regional cooperation platforms and reviewed the possibilities of expanding cooperation in various fields.
Also, the Korean side emphasized that Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) was welcomed with satisfaction.
During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views also took place on other issues of mutual interest.
