U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Deputy Director Andrew Bailey has announced that he is stepping down from the position he has held for over a year.
“Elchi” reports that he announced this on the “X” social network.
“I want to thank President Donald Trump, Attorney General Todd Blanche, and FBI Director Kash Patel for the opportunity to serve at the FBI. Under President Trump’s leadership, we achieved historic results in fulfilling our mission to ensure America’s security,” wrote A. Bailey.
He noted that he is proud of the achievements made and is leaving his post to return to his family in Missouri.
Bailey expressed confidence that FBI Director Kash Patel will continue reforms within the agency, fight crime, ensure the country’s security, strengthen accountability within the organization, and restore public trust in the FBI.
Bailey previously served as the Attorney General of Missouri. In his role as FBI Deputy Director, he helped oversee election-related investigations and participated in the seizure of ballots related to the 2020 presidential election in Fulton County, Georgia.
