Taiwan’s “Deputy Foreign Minister” François Wu has expressed the concerns of “official Taipei” regarding the possible discussions expected between the leaders of the US and China.

He stated that the Taiwanese side fears that the fate of the island could become an object of bargaining between major powers:
“Our biggest fear is that Taiwan will be put on the ‘menu’ in the talks between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump.”
It should be noted that Donald Trump will visit China on May 14–15.
