At the request of countries facing fuel shortages due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the US has extended the waiver on sanctions imposed on the maritime supply of Russian and Iranian oil for 30 days.
“Elchi” reports, citing “The Times of Israel”, that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced this during Senate committee hearings.
According to him, during the recent meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, relevant appeals were sent to about 10 countries.
Previously, Bessent stated that he did not intend to extend these concessions.
