Climate change also has a serious impact on the shallowing of the Caspian Sea.
“Elchi” reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov stated this during his speech at the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana.
“As is known, one of the most serious challenges facing our region is the rapid decline in the level of the Caspian Sea. In order to effectively combat this challenge, Azerbaijan supports strengthening cooperation among the Caspian littoral states. In this regard, I would like to note that, on the initiative of Azerbaijan, bilateral working groups have been established with Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkmenistan to study the causes of the decline in the Caspian Sea level and to prepare appropriate measures. Climate change also has a serious impact on the shallowing of the Caspian Sea. Consistent measures are being taken in Azerbaijan to minimize the negative impact of climate change on the environment of the Caspian Sea. By approaching these challenges systematically, Azerbaijan aligns its economic development with ecological goals,” the Prime Minister said.
