There should be no reference to the Declaration of Independence in the new Constitution.
elchi reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this.
“I clearly stated my position when I said that there should be no reference to the Declaration in the new Constitution. Why? Because it stems from the necessity to prevent the continuation of the Karabakh movement. If we adopt a new Constitution today and there is a reference to the Declaration in the preamble, it will mean that we are continuing the Karabakh movement. If we continue the Karabakh movement, it will mean that we are renewing the conflict with Azerbaijan. If we renew the conflict with Azerbaijan, it will mean that peace is impossible,” Pashinyan said.
