A conference titled “Ilham Aliyev is the victor of the historic Victory and the author of peace” dedicated to September 27 – the Day of Remembrance was held at the War, Labor and Armed Forces Veterans Organization.
“Elchi” reports that at the event, the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was first played, and the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of our republic was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Afterward, a short video clip about the Patriotic War and local anti-terror measures was shown.
Speakers at the conference emphasized that September 27, 2020, marked the beginning of a new stage in the history of Azerbaijan. The 44-day Patriotic War demonstrated to the whole world the national will of our people, the unity of the state and the people, and the high combat capability of the Azerbaijan Army. The leadership of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the political will of our state, and the purposeful state policy implemented over many years played a special role in achieving this historic Victory. Defending Azerbaijan’s rightful position on the international stage and resolutely protecting our state’s national interests during the Patriotic War are also important pages of our history of Victory. However, this Victory is not limited to military results alone. Behind it lies the solidarity of the Azerbaijani people, the dedication of our soldiers and officers, the dear memory of our martyrs, the heroism of our veterans, and the rich spiritual heritage stemming from the services of our veterans to the Motherland.
At the same time, it was noted that today the sacred memory of our martyrs is commemorated with deep respect, and gratitude is expressed to our veterans, war participants, and all personnel of the Azerbaijan Army.
It was also stated that the heroism and dedication they displayed serve as a true example of patriotism for future generations. Our veterans also have a special role in conveying the history of the Victory to future generations. Through their life paths and services, they are living examples of loyalty to the Motherland, devotion to the state, and civic responsibility.
During the event, it was also noted that this Victory brought peace and justice to the region.
