The USA, Canada and NATO’s European allies are ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine after a peace agreement is reached with Russia.
“Elchi” reports, citing “Interfax”, that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated this.
According to him, work on the security guarantees mechanism is being carried out within the framework of a “coalition of the willing” led by Great Britain and France.
He noted that it is necessary to exclude the possibility of a recurrence of the situation where new military operations could begin after a peace agreement or a long-term ceasefire is reached.
Previously, the countries of the “coalition of the willing” and the USA agreed on the key elements of the future guarantee system. These include a ceasefire monitoring mechanism led by Washington, future support for the Ukrainian army, the possibility of deploying multinational forces, as well as commitments to assist Ukraine in the event of new military operations in the future.
