On April 21, a Board meeting was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in an online format.

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to “Elchi”, Minister Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, who opened the meeting dedicated to the state of prevention and detection of crimes against property, the application of security-alarm systems, and the organization of outdoor service, stated that activities in the field of protecting public order and security continued purposefully in the first quarter of 2026 in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies. Comprehensive measures taken in the field of crime prevention, detection, investigation, and the protection of human rights and freedoms have yielded positive results, and the criminogenic situation has been kept under control.

It was noted that in the first 3 months of the current year, 85.9 percent of the 7,738 crimes recorded by all state agencies that are subjects of operational-search and investigative activities were solved. 90.1 percent of crimes recorded by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor’s office were solved. Compared to the same period in 2025, there was a 4.9 percent decrease in the dynamics of crimes. The detection of crimes committed in non-obvious conditions, crimes against property, including thefts, has improved, and the detection of intentional murders and attempts, pickpocketing, robberies, and vehicle thefts has been fully ensured. 2 tons and 310 kilograms of narcotic drugs were removed from illegal circulation, which is 648 kilograms more compared to the same period last year.

The number of grave, especially grave, and group crimes, crimes against the person, attempted murders, crimes against property, including thefts, fraud, muggings, robberies, vehicle thefts, crimes committed using information technologies, and crimes committed by previously convicted persons, minors, and on the basis of family conflicts has decreased. At the same time, the number of road traffic accidents decreased by 15 cases, the number of deaths in accidents by 9, and the number of injured by 44.

Then, speeches by the heads of the Main Departments, departments, and territorial police bodies of the Ministry regarding the work done, results achieved, existing shortcomings, and measures taken to eliminate them were heard regarding the issues on the agenda.

Concluding the meeting, Minister of Internal Affairs V. Eyvazov noted that the work done on the issues on the agenda was generally satisfactory, pointed out certain shortcomings in the activities of some territorial bodies, and demanded that appropriate measures be taken to eliminate them. In particular, he demanded the strengthening of preventive work to discourage minors from illegal acts and the continuation of more purposeful awareness-raising measures together with relevant state institutions and civil society organizations in order to protect them from the harmful effects of social networks. At the same time, he gave specific instructions and recommendations on a number of important directions and current issues of operational-service activity.
