The next meeting of the Greece-Azerbaijan joint Intergovernmental Commission will be held in Athens in October of this year.

According to the information, Greek Ambassador Maria Papakonstantinu held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Tourism Agencies of Azerbaijan (ATAA) Goydeniz Gahramanov, and during the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism.
It is noted that the meeting participants agreed on the development of bilateral relations, especially in the context of the significant potential for increasing mutual tourist flow.
“During the meeting, both sides agreed that there are great prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations in the field of tourism, and at the same time emphasized the importance of establishing year-round direct air connections to increase mutual tourist flow,” the statement said.
It is also noted that special attention was paid to the importance of establishing year-round direct air connections between the countries, as well as the significance of the Baku-Heraklion route flights, which the AZAL airline has been operating for the second consecutive year.
