Based on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the social security system in our country is being strengthened year by year, and a further step has been taken in this direction since the beginning of the current year: pensions have been indexed and increased by 9.3 percent. In the first quarter alone, the funds allocated for pension provision increased by 200 million manats compared to the corresponding period of last year, reaching 2 billion 53 million manats. At the same time, funds directed to other social payments have increased.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated at the next board meeting held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev emphasized that along with the continuation of work in the field of social protection, active employment programs are being expanded year by year. He pointed out that ensuring the employment of residents relocated to our liberated territories is a priority area of activity for the Ministry.
It was noted that in close cooperation with employers, programs such as job placement, self-employment, vocational training, labor fairs, joint financing programs, etc., are being implemented and gradually expanded in this area. Under the Great Return program, the employment of 9,470 able-bodied residents relocated to those territories has already been ensured, and small family businesses have been established for 807 people within the framework of the self-employment program. 432 of the relocated residents have been involved in vocational training courses.
It was reported that more than 300 professional and qualification standards have been prepared in the last year, and more than 1,600 in recent years, to match labor supply and demand in the labor market and develop competitive human resources. It was noted that the number of standards is planned to reach 1,800 this year.
It was emphasized that the reforms carried out this year regarding the improvement of the regulatory legal framework in the field of labor relations aim to create mechanisms that ensure stronger protection of employee rights, regulate labor relations based on flexible and socially oriented principles, and incorporate new concepts consistent with modern requirements into the legal framework. Measures taken to protect the rights of persons with disabilities and increase their integration into an inclusive society were discussed.
Work on proactive pension assignment in the past period was mentioned, and it was stated that the Ministry will continue the digitalization of social services in the coming period and expand the scope of social payment types assigned in a proactive manner. At the meeting, work done and tasks ahead in the fields of international relations, internal control, and audit were also discussed.
