In the first quarter of this year, 13,919.9 tons of liquid vegetable oil and 5,918.9 tons of butter were produced in Azerbaijan.
“Elchi” reports, citing the State Statistical Committee, that the production of liquid oils increased by 24.2% compared to the same period last year, while the production of butter, on the contrary, decreased by 8%.
As of April 1, the stocks of finished liquid vegetable oil in the warehouses of industrial enterprises amounted to 2,810.3 tons, and butter stocks amounted to 62.1 tons.
During the reporting period, margarine production in the country decreased by 52.1 percent compared to January-March 2025, amounting to 6,278.2 tons.
It should be noted that during the reporting period, a total of 5,717.03 tons of butter and other fats made from milk worth 36,168.80 US dollars were imported into the country. The average price of one kilogram of butter was 10.8 manats (6.33 dollars).
According to the statistics for January-February, butter is imported into Azerbaijan mostly from Iran (1,782 tons), Saudi Arabia (363 tons), Belarus (509.7 tons), and Ukraine (259 tons).
It should also be noted that in the first quarter, 947.5 thousand decaliters (1 dkl=10 liters) of fruit and vegetable juices, 38,111.6 tons of fruit and vegetable preserves, and 12,905.8 tons of cheese and cottage cheese were produced in Azerbaijan, which is 13.2%, 8.6%, and 0.4% less, respectively, compared to January-March of the previous year.
