A drill was conducted in a multi-story residential building located at 12 Fuad Ibrahimbeyov Street, Yasamal district, Baku, organized by the State Fire Control Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) and with the participation of the State Fire Protection Service.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the press service of the MES.
The drill was organized with a simulated fire alarm to assess the ability of firefighting equipment to approach the residential building and the water reservoir, as well as to evaluate the overall operational conditions for fire safety in the area. It was noted that during the drill, it was determined that firefighting vehicles could not freely approach the residential building and the water reservoir due to the irregular parking of private vehicles. Furthermore, it was found that the building was not fully equipped with primary fire extinguishing equipment, internal fire hydrants were not fully completed, there was no automatic fire alarm system, the electrical system did not meet the requirements of the “Rules for the Installation of Electrical Installations,” and the ceiling of the corridors was covered with flammable material (paneling).
Verbal and written instructions were given to the persons responsible for the fire safety of the residential building regarding the elimination of the noted deficiencies, and at the same time, awareness-raising conversations were held with the residents of the building about ensuring fire safety. It was pointed out that during fires and other emergencies, in order for rescue and firefighting vehicles and other large-sized special-purpose equipment to enter the courtyards of buildings without obstruction, to be brought into combat readiness quickly, and for operations to be carried out effectively, as well as for the convenient use of water reservoirs and hydrants, vehicles must be parked only in designated places, maintaining a distance between them, and ensuring free passage for other vehicles.
