“Our goal is to deliver our energy resources to the European market on a larger scale”.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during the “South Caucasus: A Developing Strategic Center” panel held within the framework of the V Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
“Regarding Azerbaijan’s energy policy, we have acted as a reliable partner for the European Union and other partners. At the same time, we are expanding the geography of Azerbaijan’s energy exports. Recently, together with Turkey, we have started delivering Azerbaijani gas to Syria. This is considered a successful model of trilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Syria. Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to global energy supply, especially in the direction of Europe. At the same time, we observe that global energy security is experiencing certain shocks. Therefore, in addition to hydrocarbon reserves, Azerbaijan is also investing in renewable energy potential and aims to expand export opportunities in this field. Our goal is to deliver our energy resources to the European market on a larger scale. In this direction, we are also cooperating with our Central Asian partners and working on the transportation of their resources,” noted Hikmet Hajiyev.
