On April 17, the next meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held.
elchi reports that the agenda of the Council meeting was approved, and the draft Action Plan for 2026-2028 was the first item brought up for discussion.
Alimammad Nuriyev, Chairman of the Public Council under the MIA, noted that the draft Action Plan was prepared based on the proposals of the Council members. He stated that the main task ahead is to further strengthen the Council’s activities. “The relationship between society and the state is measured not only by dialogue but also by results,” emphasized A. Nuriyev.
The planned measures create broad opportunities for the Public Council to operate effectively and result-oriented. Based on the principles of the rule of law, transparency, objectivity, professionalism, and strengthening state-society cooperation, the Action Plan defines measures and initiatives in 8 directions.
After extensive discussions, the Action Plan was adopted.
Additionally, 5 working groups of the Public Council were established—Monitoring and Control, Personnel Work, Coordination, Analysis, and Education and Youth Affairs—and their members were elected.
Chairman Alimammad Nuriyev provided information regarding plans to organize a public hearing on the topic “Modern Challenges of Security and Urban Planning” in partnership with the MIA and the Public Council on the eve of the World Urban Forum (WUF 13) to be held in our country, and voiced his proposals regarding the purpose, format, and agenda of the event. The proposal to hold the public hearing was accepted by the Public Council.
During the discussion of current issues, Chairman of the Public Council Alimammad Nuriyev, Deputy Chairman Farhad Suleymanov, Secretary of the Council Ikhtiyar Huseynli, and members Ibrahim Zeynalov, Mehriban Zeynalova, and Zaur Mammadov spoke and expressed their proposals for further improving and expanding activities in the coming period.
Elsevar Hasanov, Head of the Division of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, attended the Public Council meeting.
