According to operational data for the 1st quarter of 2026, electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 6,991 million kWh.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Energy.
According to the information, during this period, 6,066 million kWh was produced at TPPs, 510.5 million kWh at HPPs, and 414.5 million kWh from other sources, including 247.7 million kWh at wind power plants, 91.3 million kWh at solar power plants, and 75.5 million kWh at the Solid Household Waste Incineration Plant.
In January-March, compared to the corresponding period of 2025, electricity production at wind power plants increased by 238.2 million kWh. In total, electricity production from renewable energy sources, including HPPs, amounted to 925 million kWh.
During the quarter, electricity production amounted to 6,076.8 million kWh for “Azerenerji” OJSC (5,558.6 million kWh at TPPs, 508.1 million kWh at HPPs, 10.1 million kWh at small HPPs), 7.9 million kWh at wind power plants for “Azerishig” OJSC, and 906.3 million kWh for independent power plants.
During the reporting period, electricity exports amounted to 142.4 million kWh, and imports amounted to 35.0 million kWh.
