Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili met with Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Istanbul.

He noted that during the meeting, active inter-parliamentary cooperation was welcomed, and the commitment to the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan was reaffirmed.
“We discussed the peace process in our region and emphasized the importance of advancing strategic energy projects,” Papuashvili wrote.
The speaker awarded Sahiba Gafarova with the Honorary Medal recently established by the Parliament of Georgia. He emphasized that the Speaker of the Milli Majlis was awarded this prize for her great contribution to strengthening parliamentary relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan and to the friendship between the two peoples.
