Israel has a historic opportunity to conclude a peace agreement with Lebanon.
“Elchi” reports, citing “Ynet”, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated this during his speech regarding the implementation of a ceasefire between the two countries.
“I responded to this call and agreed to a 10-day temporary ceasefire to attempt to make progress toward the agreement we have begun discussing at the level of ambassadors (the Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors to the US – ed.) in Washington. There is a historic chance for peace to be established here,” he said.
At the same time, Netanyahu noted that the Israel Defense Forces will not leave the buffer zone in southern Lebanon in order to maintain security.
