In connection with the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” declared by the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, a seminar was held at the Aran Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the topic of “Preservation of Azerbaijan’s centuries-old urban planning and architectural culture traditions, application of modern urban planning principles, and formation of a sustainable and safe urban environment in the field of emergency prevention.”

The event, organized by the Aran Regional Center of the MES, was attended by responsible employees of the Ministry’s regional bodies, as well as city and district executive authorities located in the area, and representatives of construction companies.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Deputy Head of the Regional Center, Lieutenant Colonel Ruhan Nasibov, spoke about the significance of declaring 2026 as the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” in our country and discussed the relevant issues regarding the implementation of the approved action plan.
Other speakers provided detailed information on the formation of a healthy and sustainable environment related to urban planning and architecture, as well as construction legislation, norms, and regulations.
A broad exchange of views on the topic took place at the event.
