The United Water Supply Service for Large Cities and the Directorate of Facilities Under Construction of the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan (ADSEA) are continuing projects for the construction of new sewage collectors and wastewater treatment plants in Baku and the Absheron district.
This was reported to elchi by ADSEA.
It was noted that one of the projects is being implemented for the Pirshagi basin.
The project is being carried out within the framework of the State Program for 2026-2035 on the improvement of water supply, rainwater, and sewage systems in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, signed by the President of Azerbaijan.
The construction of a collector with a total length of 33 km and a new pumping station will allow for the management of wastewater in the settlements of Bilgah, Nardaran, Pirshagi, Novkhani, Goradil, Fatmai, Saray, Zabrat, Balakhani, Mahammadi, and Kurdakhani. At the same time, flooding incidents in the settlements located within the basin will be prevented, and the ecological balance in the Kurdakhani and Zabrat lakes and the coastal zone will be restored.
Currently, the construction of 9.8 km of pressurized sewage lines and 3.9 km of corrugated pipes has been completed under the project. Work on laying other pipes of various diameters and micro-tunnels for the collector is being carried out regularly.
Within the framework of the project for the construction of sewage collectors for the Pirshagi basin, 6 out of 31 shafts to be built have been completed, and work continues on the remaining shafts and the sewage pumping station.
Projects of this type, especially sewage networks built with micro-tunneling technology, are distinguished by their modern and sustainable nature, providing the opportunity for construction in large areas and contributing to increasing the level of public satisfaction.
