The USA intends to cut all its trade relations with Spain after the latter refused to increase its military spending to 5% of GDP.
“Elchi” reports that US President Donald Trump stated this during his meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at the White House.
“They have great people, but they don’t have great leadership. As you know, they were the only country in NATO that did not agree to increase military spending to 5%. I don’t think they intend to agree to increase anything,” he said.
“They wanted to keep everything at the 2% level, and they don’t even pay that 2%, so we are preparing to stop all trade with Spain. We don’t want to have any relations with Spain,” the US leader added.
