Ukraine: “Starlink” and “Starshield” communication systems exceed 400 kilometers per hour

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has announced that the “Starlink” and “Starshield” satellite communication systems operate stably even at speeds exceeding 400 kilometers per hour.

elchi reports that, according to “Ukrainskaya Pravda”, on October 24, specialists from the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense tested the systems’ performance at higher speeds.

In the initial phase, communication was recorded to operate at speeds exceeding 161 kilometers per hour. Subsequently, the Ministry of Defense officially confirmed that the systems provide a stable connection even at speeds above 400 kilometers per hour.

The ministry stated that tests are continuing to examine the system’s capabilities at higher speeds and to determine the maximum communication range.

It is recalled that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously stated that the operation of “Starlink” and “Starshield” equipment at speeds of 130–161 kilometers per hour in various directions of the front had stopped. According to him, this situation slows down logistical processes and limits the use of Ukrainian drones.

On October 16, US President Donald Trump stated that the White House had no role in limiting Ukraine’s use of these systems.

Meanwhile, “The Telegraph” reported that Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, suggested to Trump that the capabilities of the “Starlink” and “Starshield” satellite networks used by Ukrainian soldiers be limited.
