Kamran Aliyev Participated in the Meeting of Prosecutors General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States

Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev is on an official visit to the Russian Federation with a delegation he leads.

This was reported to elchi by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

It was stated that within the framework of the visit, on October 1, the delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev participated in the 24th meeting of the Prosecutors General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Kazan.

Speaking at the meeting on the topic “Protection of traditional family values and prevention of the spread of illegal content among minors,” Kamran Aliyev stated that the protection of family and children in the Republic of Azerbaijan has strong constitutional and legislative foundations.

The Prosecutor General noted that the family, the basic unit of society, is under the special protection of the state, and ensuring the rights, legal interests, and safety of children is one of the priority directions of state policy.

He then provided extensive information on the measures taken by the prosecutor’s bodies to protect children’s rights, as well as to prevent the involvement of minors in criminal activities.

Also, within the framework of the event, on October 1 – the 108th anniversary of the establishment of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the professional holiday of prosecutor’s office employees, employees and veterans of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan were officially congratulated.

Within the framework of the event, a bilateral meeting was held between Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and Prosecutor General of the Republic of Tajikistan Habibullo Vohidzada.

At the meeting, the existing cooperation relations between the prosecutor’s bodies of the two countries were highly appreciated, and an agreement was reached on expanding legal cooperation and developing and signing a new cooperation program through an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.

Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was also held between Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic Malik Bekturganov.

The parties discussed the current state and development prospects of cooperation between the prosecutor’s bodies and noted the importance of continuing mutual interaction in bilateral and multilateral formats.

The Kyrgyz side expressed interest in studying our country’s experience in the digitalization and electronicization of the activities of prosecutor’s bodies, as well as in combating cybercrime.

In addition, a meeting was held between Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and the newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS member states, Aleksandr Gennadyevich Bazhenov. The Prosecutor General congratulated Aleksandr Bazhenov on his appointment to his new position and expressed confidence that his professional experience gained in the prosecutor’s bodies will make an additional contribution to the Council’s activities. The importance of Azerbaijan’s active participation in the activities of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General, including the further expansion of cooperation within the framework of the organization, was emphasized.

During the event, the Prosecutor General also held working meetings with his counterparts from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and other countries, discussing issues of mutual interest.

Within the framework of the visit, the Senior Assistant Prosecutor General for Special Assignments, Ilgar Safarov, delivered a lecture at the Kazan Law Institute of the University of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation on the topic “Digital Transformation of the Prosecutor’s Office and Professional Responsibility,” providing extensive information to the audience about the experience of the Azerbaijan Prosecutor’s Office in this field, and participated in panel discussions, answering the questions of the audience.

Thus, the official visit of the delegation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation concluded.
