Classes have started in preschool groups in state general education institutions since October 1.
According to the information provided to elchi by the Baku City Education Department (BCED), 17,622 children have registered for preschool groups in 296 general education institutions under the BCED for the 2026-2027 academic year.
It was noted that 12 classes are held 4 days a week in the preschool groups created in state general education schools.
It was reported that the lessons in preschool groups include “Getting to Know the Environment”, “Preparation for Literacy and Speech Development”, “Development of Artistic Thinking”, “Development of Logical and Mathematical Thinking”, “Visual Arts”, “Music”, and “Physical Education”. It should also be noted that the purpose of creating preschool groups is to increase the psychological stability of 5-year-old children in preparation for school, to adapt them to the educational environment, and to ensure that they acquire communication and collaborative skills.
