The policy pursued in our country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev serves to strengthen Azerbaijan’s international positions, build domestic and foreign policy in accordance with national interests, and fully ensure economic independence. As a result of this policy, Azerbaijan is recognized as a reliable partner in the international arena and occupies a unique place in global economic relations. By becoming one of the world’s leading investors, our country actively participates in the international investment space.
Undoubtedly, Azerbaijan’s favorable investment environment, which plays an important role in Europe’s energy security, is one of the main pillars of these successes. The economic stability, transparency, and reliable business environment formed in our country increase the interest of foreign investors. There is no longer a need for special efforts to attract investors to Azerbaijan. The favorable opportunities created by our country and the reliable economic environment it has formed allow foreign investors to turn to Azerbaijan on their own initiative. All this strengthens Azerbaijan’s international economic influence and keeps our country at the center of attention of the world economy.
These thoughts were expressed by Milli Majlis deputy Rashad Mahmudov. According to him, the organization of the II Azerbaijan International Investment Forum held in Baku under the patronage of President Ilham Aliyev was an important event in terms of presenting our country’s investment opportunities on the international stage. The participation of President Ilham Aliyev in the event held within the framework of the forum on the topic “Restoring Trust in a Fragmented World: South Caucasus as a Pillar of Global Connectivity and Investment Stability” and his answering the moderator’s questions were marked by important messages regarding Azerbaijan’s economic potential and investment opportunities.
President Ilham Aliyev’s remarks during the forum clearly demonstrated the breadth of Azerbaijan’s investment potential. Our country’s favorable business environment, political and economic stability, strong financial capabilities, developed transport infrastructure, and reliable cooperation with neighboring states make Azerbaijan one of the important hubs of the East-West and North-South transport corridors. Investments in railways, highways, airports, and seaports expand transit and logistics capabilities, while digitalization and modern customs management further strengthen this potential. Touching upon our country’s energy capabilities, the head of state noted that the oil and gas sector maintains its leading position.
At the same time, renewable energy, electricity export, development of power transmission lines, construction of energy storage systems, and creation of data centers for artificial intelligence constitute the new investment and development directions of our country. Mining, agriculture, and food security are also among the sectors with vast investment opportunities. In addition, the head of state stated that the work carried out by Azerbaijan in the fields of digital transformation, cybersecurity, fiber-optic connections, and human capital development further increases the country’s future economic potential. Policies aimed at education abroad programs and professional personnel training create conditions for the formation of knowledge and skills necessary for a modern economy. All these factors strengthen Azerbaijan’s position as a favorable, safe, and predictable economic space for long-term investments.
The deputy concluded that the results achieved by our country, which is stepping into a new phase with its investment power, the stability it has formed, and the development goals it has set, are the consistent results of the policy implemented under the leadership of the head of state. The fact that moderator Adebayo Ogunlesi said to our head of state during the forum, “If I were Azerbaijani, I would vote for President Ilham Aliyev,” was remembered as one of the remarkable assessments given from the outside to our country’s path of development. Because under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is implementing a policy aimed at strengthening global connectivity, investment stability, peace, and tranquility in the South Caucasus. The position our country has gained in this direction clearly shows Azerbaijan’s growing role in regional processes and its expanding opportunities in international economic relations.
