A memorial meal (ehsan) was held in the ceremonial hall located on the grounds of the “Haji Safarali” mosque in the village of Novkhani, Absheron district, in connection with Commemoration Day.
Before the memorial meal, the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who died in the battles for the territorial integrity of our republic was honored with a minute of silence. The graves of the martyrs in the Novkhani cemetery were visited, prayers were recited for the souls of the Great Leader and the martyrs, and wreaths were laid on the graves.
Speaking at the event, businessman Jalil Naghiyev drew attention to the national and moral significance of September 27, and spoke about the historical importance of the victorious war waged against Armenian occupiers 6 years ago under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Stating that state care for martyrs’ families and veterans in Azerbaijan is at a high level, the businessman emphasized that the head of state’s attitude, love, and respect for martyrs’ families and defenders of the motherland serve as an example for every citizen.
The memorial meal, attended by up to 150 citizens, included martyrs’ families, veterans, war disabled, village elders, and citizens of other categories.
Participating in the memorial meal held on the initiative and organization of businessman Jalil Naghiyev, the families of martyrs and veterans expressed their gratitude and thanks to President Ilham Aliyev for the attention and care shown by our state to citizens of sensitive categories.
