Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe will have to pay 60 thousand euros in compensation to his former club PSG.

The Paris Court of Appeal has issued a new ruling in the financial dispute between the French footballer and his former club.
The issue began in 2024. After leaving PSG, Mbappe claimed that the club owed him salary and bonuses. In April 2025, the footballer’s lawyers placed a temporary freeze on 55.4 million euros in PSG’s bank accounts to secure that debt. This restriction remained in effect for 45 days – from April 10 to May 25.
In court, PSG argued that it incurred additional financial costs because it could not use its funds during that period. The Court of Appeal partially accepted this argument and ruled that Mbappe must pay 60 thousand euros in compensation to the club.
This decision does not cancel the main amount Mbappe is set to receive from PSG. In December 2025, the Paris Labor Court had ordered PSG to pay the footballer approximately 61 million euros for unpaid salary and bonuses.
It should be noted that Mbappe played for PSG from 2018 to 2024. He moved to Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer of 2024.
