Constituency Election Commissions are being re-formed in Azerbaijan

The process of re-forming constituency election commissions (ConEC) is beginning in Azerbaijan.

According to “Elchi”, the Central Election Commission will hold a meeting regarding this today.

According to the Election Code, at the meeting, members representing the majority, minority, and independent deputies who do not belong to any party in the Milli Majlis will nominate candidates for membership in the constituency election commissions.

It should be noted that according to the Election Code, each ConEC has 9 members, 3 of whom are nominated by commission members representing the political party that holds the majority of deputies in the Milli Majlis (MM) (in this case, YAP) in the CEC, 3 are nominated by commission members representing political parties that hold the minority of deputies in the MM in the CEC, and 3 members are nominated by commission members representing MM deputies who do not belong to any political party in the CEC.

The decision regarding the re-formation of the ConECs and the list of constituency election commission members attached to the decision will be published in the official press.

Information about the new composition of the ConECs will also be made public through the CEC’s website.
