Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission, Aset Asavbayev.

It was noted that the meeting focused on the current state and development prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and TRACECA, as well as issues related to expanding transport and communication links in the region.
Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to cooperation within the framework of TRACECA and that our country plays an active role in developing transport links between Europe and Asia. In this context, it was stated that Azerbaijan’s favorable geographical location, modern transport infrastructure, and transit capabilities make a significant contribution to efficient and sustainable development.
Information was provided on the work carried out as a result of Azerbaijan’s initiatives and efforts to develop transport infrastructure, expand the capabilities of the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and improve railway and road transport connections.
The importance of further increasing the potential of the Middle Corridor, expanding the volume of cargo transportation along the route, simplifying and digitizing transit procedures, and strengthening coordination among participating countries was emphasized.
The parties also exchanged views on opportunities for the development of regional transport links, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
