Lukashenko: “I haven’t stolen for 30 years, and I won’t do it in the future either”

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that he has never stolen and will never steal while in the post of head of state.

elchi reports that this was announced by the “BelTA” agency.

“Some are already writing that I have family interests in this or that field, for example, in advertising. Don’t even think about it. I haven’t taken anything from anyone,” the Belarusian leader said while commenting on rumors about his or his family members’ personal commercial interests. Lukashenko noted that everyone in his family is engaged in a specific job. For example, his youngest son, Nikolai, is currently serving in the army with the rank of lieutenant in one of the most difficult units. However, in his spare time, he continues to master the biotechnologies he studied at university. “Everyone is busy with a specific job. No one has stolen anything,” the head of the republic emphasized.

Lukashenko also pointed out that in these or other business matters, his family members prioritize state interests above all else. “I say: ‘You are the children of the president, there is no escaping that. When I am no longer president, you will be able to work more freely as business people. But not now,'” the head of state said regarding his position on this matter. “Therefore, do not worry about this. Do not worry about me. I haven’t stolen for 30 years, and I have absolutely no intention of doing so in the 31st or 32nd year of my presidency,” the Belarusian leader noted.
