19 foreigners who violated the Azerbaijani border were detained last month

During July 2026, 26 people were detained by the State Border Service for violating the state border.

According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the Press Center of the State Border Service, 7 of them were citizens of Azerbaijan, 8 of Afghanistan, 4 of Pakistan, 3 of Iran, 1 of Turkey, 1 of Lebanon (a person with refugee status), 1 of the Russian Federation, and 1 of Nigeria.

As a result of measures taken to combat illegal migration, 9 people were detained while attempting to cross the state border with forged date stamps, passports, or documents belonging to others.

44 people were detained for violating border regime rules, and appropriate measures were taken against them.

As a result of measures taken to combat crime, 330 people wanted by law enforcement agencies were detained and handed over to the relevant authorities; the departure of 797 people prohibited from leaving the country was prevented, and the entry of 31 people prohibited from entering the country was blocked.

As a result of measures taken to combat the illegal drug trade, 105 kilograms and 793 grams of narcotic substances, 64 liters of narcotic solution, and 3,309 pills of various compositions were discovered and removed from circulation (in 1 case, 330 grams of narcotic substances and 790 psychotropic pills were seized via an unmanned aerial vehicle).
