The initiative to disarm the Palestinian Hamas movement also includes the dismantling of underground tunnels and arsenals in the Gaza Strip.
According to “Elchi”, citing the “Al Hadath” TV channel, this was stated by a representative of the Peace Council, which was established to oversee the stabilization process in the enclave.
According to the document, the implementation plan of the agreement provides for the elimination of all types of combat weapons, both heavy and light, without exception. Furthermore, it is planned to destroy underground tunnels, weapons depots, and arms production facilities.
The Council emphasized that after the process is completed, Hamas will not have any administrative role in the Gaza Strip.
It is noted that the administration of the strip will be transferred to a special committee with broad powers in accordance with the principle of “one authority, one law, and one weapon.”
