Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the US Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, and the Commander of the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU), Lieutenant General Curtis Buzzard.
“Elchi” reports that Zelenskyy shared this on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the parties discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense (AD), protecting the Ukrainian sky by increasing the supply of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems within the framework of the PURL program, as well as the implementation of joint defense projects with the US:
In addition, the parties discussed the bilateral defense partnership between the US and Ukraine, in particular, the implementation of the decision taken by US President Donald Trump in Ankara regarding the granting of a license for the production of Patriot systems to Ukraine. Special attention was paid to the “Drone Deal” agreement, which the Ukrainian and US sides are currently working on.
“This project has real potential, and we hope that it will be possible to finalize it soon,” the Ukrainian leader said.
V. Zelenskyy also stated that the parties had signed the first documents within the framework of the “Drone Deal” agreement. According to him, this allows Ukraine to send unmanned aerial vehicles to the US for testing.
The President of Ukraine also announced that he had presented Lieutenant General Curtis Buzzard with the Order of Merit, 3rd class.
