In the modern era, influence in the energy sector is not measured solely by production volume.
elchi reports that Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated this during the first meeting of the Technical Committee of the “OPEC+” Charter of Cooperation (CoC) held in Baku.
According to him, this influence is determined by secure and diversified supply routes, reliable partnerships, and uninterrupted energy supply.
“That is precisely why Azerbaijan’s strategic importance is measured not by the volume of energy it produces, but by its ability to create reliable connections between regions and markets, the contribution it makes to the energy security of its partners, and the trust it has earned as a reliable partner. This trust is further strengthened by Azerbaijan’s active participation within the OPEC+ framework,” the minister noted.
According to him, the main directions of cooperation, including strengthening dialogue with major oil-consuming countries, promoting technologies, innovations, and investments in the oil industry, strengthening cooperation on regulatory policies, improving analytical analysis of the oil market, and developing industry standards, are of particular importance for further deepening cooperation within the OPEC+ framework and addressing future challenges.
The minister stated that currently, Azerbaijani oil is exported to nearly 20 countries in Europe and Asia. Daily oil production, including condensate, averages 553,000 barrels, and exports amount to 445,000 barrels.
